Synecore welcomes London hotel to its air conditioning service and maintenance programme
Estimated reading time 3 minutes
Last year Double Tree by Hilton Hotels in London’s Docklands commissioned Synecore to install an air conditioning system that could serve 112 bedrooms and four suites over six floors. Following the successful installation the hotel has returned to Synecore and signed up to its air conditioning maintenance Planned Preventative Maintenance Programme (PPM) for peace of mind that its investment will remain efficient and Fgas compliant at all times.
To provide air conditioning to the hotel’s bedrooms and suites in Block B Synecore had previously installed Toshiba’s three-pipe heat recovery VRF system – which delivers simultaneous cooling and heating in large buildings – as well as the brand’s Multi-Split Inverters. This was coupled with slimline ducted indoor units in the majority of the bedrooms and split wall mounted unit in 12 of the upper floor rooms and suites.
With such a large installation, the hotel wisely chose to protect its investment by joining Synecore’s PPM programme, whereby they will receive three schedules maintenance visits throughout the year.
Synecore’s engineers will perform one major and two minor visits to carry out a series of checks. All of Synecore’s air conditioning engineers are qualified to J11 CAT1 standard. This is the legal training requirement to carrying out any leak testing, refrigerant recovery, installation or service and maintenance on air conditioning systems containing over 3kg of refrigerants.
The first PPM visit will be minor. An engineer will carry out a visual inspection, filtration, and check the system is working effectively. Synecore will also provide Fgas registers, which will be completed following this initial maintenance visit.
As part of the major scheduled visit, Synecore’s engineers will work over the hotel’s six floors to clean the condensing and evaporator coils and filters, as well as perform a series of in depth checks of the system to identify any leaks, or inconsistencies in temperatures and pressures. They will also inspect the general condition of the individual elements, and look for any damage that may have occurred. The engineer will report any issues that may require repairs.
One of the many benefits to joining Synecore’s air conditioning service and maintenance programme is the hotel can take advantage of the reactive maintenance service. Should they suffer an air conditioning breakdown, the London Hotel can take advantage of the priority call out service. For a critical breakdown, an engineer will be onsite the same day to ensure the business suffers as little disruption as possible.
